Little Brown Jug Goes Up In Smoke

New Meeting Place Planned for April Meeting

On March 17th 2009, one day before our March meeting, the Little Brown Jug was lost to a gutting fire. Since there was no time to get out word about an alternate meeting place, the March meeting was cancelled. The website of the Millvale Fire Department has several videos of the fire.  http://www.millvalefire.org/_Media.html We have not yet seen the Fire Marshall’s report and the cause of the fire has not yet been determined.

   

The April meeting will be held at Silvioni’s Restaurant on Babcock Boulevard. The meeting will take place at the usual time, 8:00 PM for the Board meeting and 8:30 for the regular meeting. Ray Philips and President Shawn Leya secured the location at Silvioni’s for the April Meeting.

Silvioni’s Restaurant is located at 2125 Babcock Boulevard, about 3 miles from the Little Brown Jug.

According to MapQuest, the directions from the Little brown Jug to Silvioni’s is:

1.       Start out going NORTH on SPRING ST toward STANTON AVE. 0mi

2.       Turn RIGHT onto STANTON AVE. 0.02mi

3.       Stay STRAIGHT to go onto HOWARD ST. 0.18mi

4.       Turn SLIGHT LEFT onto NORTH AVE. 0.19mi

5.       Turn SLIGHT LEFT to stay on NORTH AVE. 0.53mi

6.       Turn LEFT onto NORTH AVE/BLUE BELT. Continue to follow BLUE BELT. 1.48mi

7.       Turn SLIGHT RIGHT onto BABCOCK BLVD. 0.4mi

8.       Arrive at 2125 Babcock Blvd, Silvioni’s.

Address Remains the Same

Our website, http://www.rtsapa.org went dormant a few years ago and the new President felt it was time to resurrect our web presence. The club opened a new website with the same address using GoDaddy as a web host.

New content on the web site should make it more useful. ¥

New Safety Door Installed

Fire Door Replaces Older Door at Camp

A new safety door was installed at the camp recently by Builder’s Hardware. This emergency door supplies a third exit for fire safety and helps us keep the camp safe for our members.

The door was installed on the field-side of the building, across from the previously installed safety door. de door (the third exit) was left unchanged.

The new door includes a push bar for easy exit from the inside and complies with safety regulations for a fire escape and second exit from the camp.

Installation of the door, as well as which vendor to use and what features were needed, was voted upon at an earlier meeting of the club. Additional photos are available on the website.¥
